ဒီတစ္ပတ္မွာ အသံုးအႏႈန္းမွားတတ္တာေတြကို ဆက္လက္ ေရးသားလိုက္ပါတယ္၊ တစ္ခ်ိဳ႕ verb ေတြက ျမန္မာလို ဘာသာျပန္ရင္ တူတဲ့ အတြက္ အတူတူထင္ၿပီး သံုးမိတတ္တာေတြ ရွိတတ္ပါတယ္။

Take or have a shower
- I make a shower every morning. လို႔မသံုးပါ
- I take a shower every morning.√ Or
- I have a shower every morning.√
မနက္တိုင္း ကၽြန္ေတာ္ ေရခ်ိဳးတယ္

• Make, take, have ဆိုတဲ့ စကားလံုးေတြက အဂၤလိပ္ဘာသာစကားမွာ အသံုးမ်ားသလို ေတာ္ေတာ္မ်ားမ်ားေနရာေတြမွာ  အသံုးအႏႈန္းတူၾကတာေတြ ရွိသလို … ကြဲျပားတာေတြလည္း အမ်ားႀကီးပါ၊ ဒါေၾကာင့္ ဒီစကားလံုး (၃) လံုးကို ကၽြမ္းကၽြမ္းက်င္က်င္ သံုးတတ္ရင္ ကို အဂၤလိပ္လို စကားေျပာပံုစံမ်ားစြာ၊ ဝါက်မ်ားစြာ တည္ေဆာက္ႏိုင္ပါတယ္။ ေရခ်ိဳးတာကို take or have a shower အျပင္ စကားေျပာဝါက်မ်ားမွာ to bathe, to have a bathe, to go for a bathe, to go bathing စတဲ့ ပံုစံမ်ား နဲ႔ သံုးႏိုင္သလို ေရကူးတယ္ ဆိုရင္ေတာ့ to go for a swim, to go swimming စတဲ့ ပံုစံမ်ားကိုလည္း သံုးႏုိင္ပါတယ္။

Ask a question
- John made me several questions.  လို႔ မသံုးဘဲ
- John asked me several questions. √
ဂၽြန္က ကၽြန္ေတာ့္ကို ေမးခြန္းမ်ားစြာ ေမးခဲ့တယ္။

Take an hour
- I’ll need an hour to do that. လို႔မေျပာဘဲ
- I’ll take me an hour to do that. √
ဒီကိစၥလုပ္ဖို႔ ကၽြန္ေတာ္ တစ္နာရီေလာက္ေတာ့ ၾကာလိမ့္မယ္။

• ျမန္မာလို တစ္နာရီေလာက္ၾကာမယ္၊ တစ္နာရီေလာက္ လိုမယ္ ဆိုေတာ့ need တို႔ last တို႔ နဲ႔ မွားတတ္ပါတယ္၊ ၾကာခ်ိန္ကို သံုးတဲ့အခါ take နဲ႔ပဲသံုးပါတယ္။ အတိအက်ေျပာရရင္ Subj + take + Obj + duration time + to + V ပံုစံ နဲ႔ သံုးပါတယ္ … Verb ကိုေတာ့ Tense အလိုက္ ေျပာင္းလဲ သံုး ႏိုင္ပါတယ္။ ေမးခြန္းဝါက်နဲ႔ အျငင္းဝါက်မ်ားမွာလဲ ေဖာ္ျပပါ ပံုစံကို Tense အလိုက္ လိုအပ္သလို ေျပာင္းလဲကာ သံုးႏုိင္ပါတယ္။

Give a discount
- He made me a small discount.  လို႔ မသံုးဘဲ
- He gave me a small discount. √
သူက ကၽြန္ေတာ့္ကို နည္းနည္း ေလ်ာ့ေပးတယ္။

Take exercise
- You ought to make more exercise. လို႔ မသံုးဘဲ
- You ought to take more exercise. √
မင္း ေလ့က်င့္ခန္းေတြ ပိုၿပီး လုပ္သင့္တယ္။

ေလ့က်င့္ခန္း လုပ္တာကို take သို႔မဟုတ္ do နဲ႔လည္း သံုးႏုိင္ပါတယ္။

Give or deliver a lecture
- He made an interesting lecture.  လို႔ မသံုးဘဲ
- He gave an interesting lecture. √  Or
- He delivered an interesting lacture.
သူက စိတ္ဝင္စားဖို႔ ေကာင္းတဲ့ သင္ခန္းစာ ပို႔ခ်ေပးခဲ့တယ္။

• Make က lecture နဲ႔ တြဲမသံုးေပမယ့္ speech ကိုေတာ့ make နဲ႔ တြဲသံုးႏုိင္ပါတယ္။ ဥပမာ - He made an interesting speech.

Say one’s prayers
- I make my prayer before I go to bed.  လို႔ မသံုးဘဲ
- I say my prayer before I go to bed. √
အိပ္ရာဝင္မဝင္ခင္ ကၽြန္ေတာ္ ဆုေတာင္းတယ္။

Pretend, not make oneself that
- She makes herself that she knows.  လို႔ မသံုးဘဲ
- She pretends herself that she knows. √
သူ(မ) က သိခ်င္ေယာင္ ေဆာင္တယ္ (သိသလို အေယာင္ေဆာင္တယ္)

Have a dream
- I saw a strange dream last night.  လို႔ မသံုးဘဲ
- I had a strange dream last night. √ Or
- I dreamt a strange dream last night.
မေန႔ညက ကၽြန္ေတာ္ ထူးဆန္းတဲ့ အိပ္မက္တစ္ခု မက္ခဲ့တယ္။

အဂၤလိပ္ဘာသာစကား ေလ့လာသူေတြ မွန္မွန္ကန္ကန္ အသံုးျပဳႏိုင္ၾကပါေစ ……
